my daily routine – lockdown #2 edition

Hey there!

Because of the pandemic, a new lockdown was announced at the end of January, so this month I’ve only left my house once to go grocery shopping and that was it.

I’m well aware that this is for the best, and I’m so privileged to be able to work from home and be safe & healthy, but it did affect my mental health. For a couple of weeks, I was feeling so lost and hopeless, unable to focus on my work or be productive at all. And yes, being productive is not the only thing to strive for in life, but when I have nothing to do I find myself very anxious so I try to keep busy in the best way possible.

Luckily for me, I found a routine that allows me to be calm & productive, giving me time to do everything that I want and that makes me feel happy. So today I wanted to share it with all of you.

7:15 — Wake up

7:20 – 7:40 — Change into comfortable clothes + feed all the pets

7:40 – 8:00 — Breakfast

8:00 – 8:20 — Morning skincare routine

8:20 – 8:30 — Plan for the day (basically write my to-do list)

8:30 – 13:30 — Work

13:30 – 14:00 — Lunch

14:00 – 14:30 — Crochet + YouTube

14:30 – 18:30 — Work

18:30 – 19:00 — Yoga

19:00 – 20:00 — Read

20:00 – 20:30 — Dinner

20:30 – 21:00 — Read some more

21:00 – 22:00 — Piano practice

22:00 – 22:30 — French

22:30 – 23:00 — Shower + Night skincare routine

23:00 – 23:30 — Reading a bit (but mostly social media)

23:30 — Sleep

Of course, to keep active throughout the day I often go play with my pets. They couldn’t be more excited that we’re all constantly at home now, and I’m so happy to be able to spend more time with them.

My weekends are different, and if you’d like I could make another post about that. I’d also like to mention that this is how my days usually go, but it’s always a bit different from day to day. Sometimes, instead of reading before bed, I’ll journal, or I’ll be so caught up in my piano practice that it’ll last until later and then I’ll just skip both my french and reading before bed.

Overall, this routine has helped me so much with being happier with how I spend my time and all I’m able to accomplish from home. Not that I used to leave my house that often before lockdown, but you know what I mean.

  1. I loved reading this routine! I’ve come into a routine for myself in lockdown, too! I like that you mentioned your routine making you both calm & productive. That’s definitely the vibe I was also going for!

    The pandemic has been rough. I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year and we’re still at it. That’s great that you’re able to find a routine that keeps you happy 🙂
    Thankfully for me, we’re not in lockdown here although there are restrictions in place, so we can go outside for walks which has been keeping me sane. That, and writing!
    Here’s to hoping that things will settle down later on this year 🙂


  3. i wish i could have such a nice structured day!!! my days are wonky i feel like time is fake and start work at the randomest hours and life is definitely a mess for me LOOOOL but omg yes id love to see a weekend version too


  4. I cannot follow such a strict routine ever thats so cool 😳 my routines tend to be less specific. Like I’d give time for a self care task but I can choose which to do depending on my mood. I also set my to do as weekly instead of daily and so I’d put two or three slots in the day for “task” but I get to decide which one I feel like doing.
