Bookish Blog Tag

Hey there!

A while back I was tagged to answer these questions, and even though it took me a while I’m finally answering them. Let’s get straight into it.

QUESTIONS:

What are 1-3 of your favorite books of all time?

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare  Vicious (Villains): Amazon.es: Schwab, V E, Schwab, V E: Libros en ...  The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo: A Novel: Amazon.ca: Reid ...

I feel like that’s like asking a parent to pick their favorite child 😂 I don’t think I have an all-time favorite because that changes as I read, but as of right now I’d go with Clockwork Princess (the characters are everything and it made me cry so much), Vicious (it’s a villain POV story but everyone is morally gray and everything hurts) and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (it’s the most realistic fake-autobiography I’ve ever read and I fell in love with it).

What are 1-3 of your favorite authors of all time?

It’s very hard to pick, but considering that I’ve read (and loved), multiple books by them I have to say Cassandra Clare, Victoria Schwab and Rick Riordan.

Who is your favorite female character from a book?

Why are these questions so hard? Probably Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson books. She’s smart, caring and resourceful. She’s a great friend and so loyal to her people.

Who is your favorite male character from a book?

Not gonna lie, I was tempted to go with Percy himself for this one, but I’m trying to not repeat myself so much so let’s say Will Herondale, from The Infernal Devices trilogy. He’s funny, devoted and loves to read. What else could you want?

What’s your favorite fictional world?

One of the reasons I like fantasy so much is the worldbuilding, but I feel like I’d die in every single one of them 😂 I really like the Grishaverse though, and would love to explore it.

What book has your favorite book cover?

I have a thing for beautiful illustrations on covers. Also, they are both by the same author & artist so this is not cheating. At all.

What’s your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?

Catching Fire and The Lord of the Rings (yes, all of them). They blew me away. Everything was on point, from the acting to the soundtrack and the visual effects. 10/10 would watch multiple times.

If you could make any book into a movie, which would it be?

Marissa Meyer Reflects on Her Iconic Lunar Chronicles Series | Den ...

There are a lot of adaptations happening in the near future that I’m very excited about (like Daisy Jones & The Six), but they should really make The Lunar Chronicles into movies. They are so entertaining and action-packed. Also, Red White & Royal Blue would be the most hilarious and heartwarming rom-com.

What was your favorite childhood book?

I still enjoy most of them, that’s how you know a book is great. The Percy Jackson books had such a great impact, and I really felt like I grew with the characters (what was that again, about trying not to repeat books?). I also really love Harry Potter, and even though I’m trying not to talk about it as often due to the author being an overall terrible person online, it doesn’t change the fact that those books got me into reading and they will always have a special place in my heart.

Fantasy or Sci-fi (or neither)?

Fantasy for sure. I still haven’t found a Sci-fi book that’s swept me off my feet, but I’m looking forward to finding it someday.

I tag  (no pressure though!):

That’s it for this tag. It was surprisingly hard to come up with the answers, but I’m happy with how it all came together. Thanks again to Germaine for tagging me!

Do you have any great book-to-movie adaptations that I should watch? Any Sci-fi book recommendations to finally get me into the genre?

Until next time,

juli

  1. I had so much fun reading your answers! Charlie Bowater is an amazing artist and she does so many amazing covers — it’s really fun to look through books and pick out her style. And I agree that The Lunar Chronicles would make really good movies (as long as they are true to the books, haha!).

Some sci-fi books I have enjoyed:
    Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
    Dune by Frank Herbert
    Scythe by Neal Shusterman

  2. honestly, annabeth and percy are my favorite female and male characters too!! both from childhood nostalgia, and also them just being amazing characters in general 💗 and aahh i really need to reread vicious! i think i read it in 2017, when i didn’t really have the appreciation i do now for morally grey characters, so i’ll probably enjoy it a lot more if i read it now. great post!! ❤
