Another June read-a-thon? You can bet.
Hello there, and welcome back to the blog. If you’ve seen my last couple of posts, then you know I’ll be participating in the Make Your MythTaker read-a-thon that’s happening during the month of June. However, there’s also a Percy Jackson inspired read-a-thon taking place during June and I couldn’t resist it.
For the Olympic Games, you have to follow your cabin’s prompts to score points and bring honor to your patron God/Goddess. Here’s their Twitter and explanation video in case you want to check it out. I chose to be one of Artemis huntresses, because honestly what could possibly be better than spending eternity with your friends and the Goddess herself, hunting monsters around the world? Here are the prompts for cabin 8 & my TBR:
A book that takes place in the wilderness
Island Affair by Priscilla Oliveras
Read while the moon is up
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
A book featuring a rescue mission
The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan
A book featuring an animal
Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab
Honor Apollo: listen to an audiobook
Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire
I’m not sure I’ll be able to get to the advanced challenges, but I’ll try anyway.
Archery: a book shorter than 200 pages
The Deep by Rivers Solomon
Monster fighting: a book featuring magical creatures
An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
Capture the flag: a most anticipated book
Beach Read by Emily Henry
As you can notice, I did pick some books thatI’ll also be reading for the Make Your Mythtaker read-a-thon. If I didn’t, I’m not sure I’d be able to complete either of them. It’s the first time I’m simultaneously participating in 2 month-long read-a-thons so we’ll see how I’ll do and if I’ll be able to win any of them.
If you could choose to be at any cabin in Camp Half-Blood, which one would you pick and why?
Until next time,
